Galaxia is looking for a Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day finances of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll manage day-to-day accounting, prepare P&L and financial reports, and help build the financial rigour behind our growth.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Accountant owns Galaxia's general finance function. You will manage day-to-day accounting operations, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and P&L reports, and provide the CEO and leadership team with the financial visibility needed to run and grow the business. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and direct executive exposure.

General Finance & Accounting

  • Own the day-to-day general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close process
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS)
  • Manage reconciliations, journal entries, and general finance controls, and maintain audit-ready records
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as needed

Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
  • Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, and flag variances and risks to the CEO
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning across the business

Executive Support & Process Improvement

  • Deliver clear, timely financial reporting directly to the CEO to support strategic decision-making
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and internal controls as the company scales
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects for the CEO and leadership team
Requirements

What we look for:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including time in a senior or standalone finance role
  • CPA designation (or in progress) preferred
  • Strong track record preparing P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports for executive audiences
  • Proficiency with standard accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and directly with executive leadership
