Vehicle Technician

Galaxia is looking for a Vehicle Technician to support assembly, integration, and test of our satellites on for MissionOne. Reporting to the Sr. Systems Engineer, you'll build, test, and document flight hardware to the highest standard.

Responsibilities

Based in our Halifax office and reporting to the Sr. Systems Engineer, the Vehicle Technician supports assembly, integration, and test of spacecraft hardware for MissionOne. You will build up and test flight and ground support hardware, execute test procedures, and produce the documentation that keeps our build records accurate and traceable.

Assembly & Integration

Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of spacecraft subsystems and flight hardware to engineering drawings and work instructions
Build and terminate cable harnesses, and support integration of avionics, power, and payload hardware
Set up and maintain lab, cleanroom, and ground support equipment (GSE) to support build and test activities

Testing

Execute functional, environmental, and acceptance test procedures on subsystems and full spacecraft
Operate test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition systems
Identify, troubleshoot, and help resolve build and test anomalies, escalating to engineering as needed

Documentation & Reporting

Produce clear, accurate build andtest records, travelers, and non-conformance reports
Maintain configuration and traceability records for parts, materials, and assemblies
Report build and test status and open issues to the AIT Manager and Systems Engineering team

Requirements

What we look for:

Diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering Technology
Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, or harness build
Comfortable reading engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures
Strong written documentation skills, with high attention to detail and traceability

What sets you apart:

Prior experience in satellite, aerospace, defence, or another high-reliability manufacturing environment
Experience with ESD-sensitive handling, cleanroom protocols, or IPC workmanship standards
Familiarity with configuration management or quality management systems
A methodical, hands-on problem solver who takes pride in the quality of their work
