Halifax, Nova Scotia – September 10 - Galaxia today announced the successful close of its oversubscribed funding round, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth and reinforcing strong investor confidence in its vision for intelligent, sovereign space infrastructure. The 4.5 million CAD round was co-led by Amiral Ventures (QC) and Invest Nova Scotia (NS).
The round will support Galaxia’s next phase of growth - accelerating the deployment of advanced satellite systems, hybrid space networking capacity, and sovereign space capabilities, positioning the company to scale its technology stack and deliver mission ready systems for both commercial and government customers.
“This is a clear signal of alignment between our vision and market demand,” said Arad Gharagozli, Chief Executive Officer of Galaxia. “We are building the foundation for a new class of space systems which deliver intelligence, not just data. This funding enables us to scale that capability, strengthen sovereign capacity, and accelerate the transition to real-time, software-defined operations in orbit.”
The raise comes at a time of accelerating demand for more resilient, responsive, and autonomous space infrastructure, particularly across defence, national security, and commercial applications. As satellite systems evolve from passive data collectors into dynamic, intelligent platforms, Galaxia is at the forefront of this shift. Galaxia’s proprietary onboard compute technology integrates networked communication, and mission software into a unified architecture designed to deliver real-time insight directly from orbit. Built on Canadian innovation and intellectual property, the platform supports the development of secure and sovereign capabilities tailored to modern operational requirements.
“Nova Scotia companies are building solutions the world increasingly needs, and Galaxia is a wonderful example,” said Deputy Minister of Department of Growth and Development, and CEO of Invest Nova Scotia, Chris Morrissey. “Invest Nova Scotia is proud to support Galaxia as it continues to advance space systems for defence and commercial applications.”
“Amiral is proud to co-lead this investment alongside Invest Nova Scotia. Galaxia is truly a trailblazer in sovereign space infrastructure and has demonstrated its leadership in making real-time Earth observation a reality," said Frederic Bastien, Managing Partner at Amiral Ventures. "This investment in Canadian innovation fits squarely within our resilience thesis."
With a growing portfolio of technologies and active programs, Galaxia continues to advance toward a future where space systems operate as intelligent, responsive infrastructure, enabling faster decision-making and greater strategic independence.
