Galaxia Introduces Onyx Edge, the Compute Foundation for the Orbital Cloud

Galaxia

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – July 23, 2026 - Galaxia today announced the release of Onyx Edge, the latest generation of its onboard compute system, marking a significant step forward in the transition from data collection to real-time, in-orbit intelligence.

Built around Galaxia’s proprietary Core + Blades architecture, Onyx Edge separates critical spacecraft control from high-performance application computing. “The Core provides the trusted control plane for spacecraft command, health management, fault recovery and secure operations, while modular compute blades operate as an onboard compute cluster for AI inference, sensor processing and data fusion in high-throughput environments where constant streams of high-fidelity sensor data enable instant insight in space,” said Arad Gharagozli, Chief Executive Officer of Galaxia. Onyx Edge will power Galaxia’s government and defence satellites beginning in 2027 and 2028, delivering significant in-orbit ISR capabilities for clients.

“The future of space will not be defined by how much data satellites collect, but by how quickly they can turn it into intelligence. That is the future Galaxia is building," added Gharagozli.

Onyx Edge reflects the strength of Canadian innovation and intellectual property, reinforcing Galaxia’s role in advancing sovereign space capability. By embedding intelligence directly into space infrastructure, the platform supports resilient, secure, and independent operations, critical for both commercial and government applications.

The release of Onyx Edge builds on Galaxia’s broader mission to redefine orbital systems as dynamic, intelligent platforms that deliver value in real time. As demand grows for more responsive and strategically aligned space assets, Onyx Edge positions Galaxia at the forefront of this shift.
